Flash Cards

Bible Flash Cards
Make a set of flash cards with the 66 books of the Bible on them. Be sure to make them big enough to be seen from the back of the room.

This can be done individually or divide into teams. 

Variations include:                              

 

Character Flash Cards
This is similar to the Bible Flash Cards but use Bible characters instead of Bible books.

• Have the student tell what book the character is found in.
• Have the student tell whether the character is in the Old Testament or New.
• Have the student tell what that character is noted for.

 

What’s his Address? 
Make a set of flash cards with the name of a Bible character on one side and on the back a list of the books of the Bible where the main incidents of that character took place.

Many Bible stories are familiar but we don’t always know where they are found at in the Bible. This exercise will help your group get familiar with finding where some of the people are located at in the Bible. Show a card and let the person or team tell which book or books that character is found in. Also please note that the books listed here are where the main incidents took placed, there may be references to the character mentioned in other places; use your own judgment.

Another idea is to put letters in pairs on flash cards and have them guess what pair it is:

Character Alphabet Cards
Put different letters of the alphabet on flash cards. Hold one up and let your group name as many Bible characters that start with that letter as they can think of. You can put the list on the back of the card.
